Individuals, teams, companies and other organizations such as NGOs may all participate, also if they are domiciled outside Switzerland.

You may submit your innovation in English or in one of the official languages of Switzerland. Correspondence will be in German or English.

The application deadline is the 31st of December 2016. Exception can be granted in extenuating circumstances if these are explained clearly.

Regular admission

Please use our registration form for a regular application.

If your innovative idea demonstrates novel elements, potential and feasibility, you will be invited to an admission interview.

The admission interview informs us about your plans and needs in order to identify your support requirements. The application form and the admission interview will provide the basis for the selection..

Special admission

The Team of the SwissInnovation Challenge reserves the right to admit unusually creative and promising innovations of particular relevance and/or excellent quality during the course of the competition, up until the second round of selection.  A person or team with special admission to the competition must fulfil the same criteria as the other participants. They have access to the same support and workshops as the other participants (as long as these can still be offered in the relevant time period).

You must meet the following criteria in order to participate in the SwissInnovation Challenge:

  • You are an enterprise that is established in the market, or about to enter the market
  • You / your business is planning an innovation in the near future, or you have undertaken an innovation within the last two calendar years
  • You may apply as an individual, a team, a business or another institution (e.g. NGO)
  • Your innovation plan must be submitted in one of the languages of Switzerland or in English

Number of participants

The maximum number of participants for the SwissInnovation Challenge is limited to 100.

SwissInnovation Challenge reserves the right to refuse an application or to exclude participants from the competition without statements of grounds.

Special award internationalisation

The support process is divided into three phases of two to three months. The support offer and workshops are geared specifically to the requirements of each phase and selection round.

You are entitled to access our support and workshops for as long as you remain in the competition. You can decide for yourself whether you wish to take advantage of the support, in accordance with your stage of knowledge and experience. Attending the events is not a prerequisite for admission to the selection presentations. You will also have the option of completing the CAS course in Entrepreneurship.

Our support initiatives generally take place in the region of Northwestern Switzerland.

  • Networkinng: Engage in networking and exchange ideas with peers
  • Individual support: Take advantage of individual support and advice

Get individual advice and feedback

All participants have access to individal support. Expert coaches of the SwissInnovation Challenge network address specific questions on relevant fields (e.g. Marketing, Finance, Law) with you.

Coaching sessions are limited in each phase of the programme.

Make use of the network

The SwissInnovation Challenge organises various events where experts support you in advancing your innovation project. Experts share their experience and help you to professionally prepare your pitch. You find the event dates in the events section.

Awards

The winner will get an award of 20’000 CHF, second and third will receive CHF 5’000 each.

The funds are meant to assist you in the development and implementation of your innovation.
